Sign the Petition to say NO to multi-storey car park

Canterbury Clean Air has started a petition to protest against the building of a multi-storey car park at Station Road West. This is a heavily congested area and this huge car park will encourage additional traffic and  worsen the already high levels of air pollution. It is contrary to Canterbury City Council’s modal shift policy.

We the undersigned petition the Council to abandon plans for a multi-storey car park at Station Road West. It will ruin the conservation area, create more traffic and increase already illegal levels of air pollution in St Dunstan’s. Air pollution affects the health of everyone. This over-sized car park will attract more vehicles into the city and increase congestion in Canterbury. We want the Council to promote and fund sustainable transport options by improving facilities for cyclists, pedestrians and bus users and not spend £9.1 million encouraging more car use.

This ePetition runs  from 28/02/2018 to 31/12/2018

In order to protect residents and visitors to the Canterbury area the council must reduce the amount of traffic within a 1 mile radius to achieve this. A car park in this area will only increase the risk to health for anyone connected with it.

Is there a hard copy of the multi storey petition? Some people don’t like registering which you have to in order to sign … Be good to pick up some extra signatures
